The Chinese saying “Like tiger with wings” means: empowerment from an external force that will make one invincible.
For Takeo Fine Paper’s Chinese New Year greetings, we designed this AngPao pack with a die-cut hole of a pair of wings. So when money is slotted in, it replaces the gold stamped wings behind & becomes the symbol of “additional empowerment” for the receiver.
( As for the giver, the money in the wings could also remind them of: “There goes my money in the name of conformed customs.”)
